The fall of the King and the need for grace

May 24, 2026

The second most famous story of King David is his affair with Bathsheba and his murder of Uriah (Bathsheba's husband), one of his faithful warriors. This single story of a fall from greatness reminds us of the need for accountability and grace in our lives. We should all have someone who loves us enough and gives us enough grace to tell us when we are wrong and headed towards disaster.

If you are going to be an accountability partner for someone, the job is messy and never as clear as we want it to be. Each situation is unique and pushes us back into the Bible where we ask, "God, how should we handle this."
