Mark 7 Tradition v/s Scripture

Every organization lives in constant danger of operating a certain way, not because it is right, but because it is tradition, "the way we have always done it." The history of the church is littered with division and destruction when we follow tradition and not scripture. Jesus encountered the same problem in Mark chapter 7 when the Pharisees and Teachers of the law allowed others to use tradition to live in disobedience to scripture.

This passage is a critical passage for us today as we stare into the mirror and ask ourselves, "Are there traditions I'm following that are not scripture?"
