Mark 9 the Transfiguration of Jesus

In Mark 9, we encounter a moment when the glory of Jesus as the second person of the Trinity, who came and walked among us in the flesh, was revealed.

Light is one of God's attributes. Jesus as fully God is also light, and unlike the stories of Moses and Elijah encountering the presence of God and seeing light, Jesus himself gives off the light.

The moment is set against the backdrop of the Exile story and is a powerful revelation for us today as we must conclude either Jesus is fully God or the greatest deceiver of all time.
