How should I talk about Gender Dysphoria
Aaron Chivington
Following the opening ceremony for the 2024 Olympics, I received several questions from parents and individuals asking how we talk about transgender issues.
1. Engage with compassion. Someone struggling with gender dysphoria needs our love, they are already hurting enough.
2. Build a relationship with the person so that you are both friends.
3. Share Jesus and the gospel message. Our identity is rooted in what God says about us, not what we feel or believe about ourselves.
4. To parents: We must talk about what is going on in culture with our children. We need to teach them to think critically and Biblically about cultural issues.
