David and the loss of his child
Jul 13, 2025 • Aaron Chivington
In 2 Samuel, King David is confronted by the prophet Nathan because of the affair he had with Bathsheba. David immediately repents and turns to the grace of God; however, one of the consequences of his sin was the loss of his child. We must be very careful in applying this passage because we are under the New Covenant, not the Old Covenant. Amid the story, King David teaches us about how to grieve and worship.
