Take up your cross

Our culture is always trying to get us to conform to the standards of this world. But Jesus has called us to a different way of thinking. In Matthew 16, Jesus tells his disciples that if they want to follow him, they must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow him. Paul says in Romans 12, do not be conformed to the ways of this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind.
